We have had a full week of events this week, most noteworthy being our Remembrance Day ceremony, our joint St Mary’s and Hennessy Presentation Mass and the Year 12-graduation dinner, which is on tonight!
Next week we welcome 101 Year 7, 2020 students to Hennessy for their second induction day and parent evening. Mrs Kathy Holding, our new Principal will be attending the parent evening to meet new parents and carers. This is the largest cohort of year 7’s we have had in recent years, which is a clear indicator that the College is thriving!
All college Parents and Carers will have a chance to meet Mrs Holding early in the New Year.
Congratulations must go out to our Year 12’s who have now officially finished their HSC exams and have begun to receive early offers into the various Universities. There are 8 rounds of early offers before the ATAR is released and further offers are ongoing from that release date.
Breaking news: Hennessy receives drought relief funding from Catholic Education
I am thrilled to announce that Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn has given Hennessy $230000 to assist all of our families with drought relief. We know that every family is feeling the effects of the drought whether it is on the farm, as a small business owner, or anyone- we are all affected. We hope this money can go some way to assisting families in the lead up to Christmas and beyond.
There are considerable regulations attached to a windfall of this size and after consultation, the decision to distribute this funding to benefit EVERY family will be to remit $700 in school fees per family. This will occur in the next fortnight. For those in credit on their school fees, this remission can be carried into 2020. Our very capable finance team will process this to families shortly. Should you have a specific query, do not hesitate to contact the College.
I would like to pass on my thanks to Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn for supporting our school and our families across the region.
Good Wishes for the week ahead
