AFTERNOON STUDY CHANGES – TERM 3
From Term 3 onwards afternoon study will be held from 3.30-4.30 only on Wednesday of each week. We have found that very few students are requiring study assistance and possibly utilising:
- Google docs – and getting feedback on tasks as they go
- Greater class time – therefore their teachers can assist them more readily
- Using the ongoing assessment model means no huge assessment tasks all due at once
In weeks 2 and 3, study will be staffed for Year 12 students after 4.30 up until approximately 6pm if they wish additional support in the lead up to the HSC Trial Examinations.
YEAR 11 2020
Year 11 2020 will select early in term 3 on July 25th with an information evening the same night starting at 6.30pm, although the subject market will be open from 5.30pm in the Hall. Students can now access a copy of the booklet via the Student Drive and the House Google classroom page.
Well done to Year 8 and 9 who have now completed their selections; the lines will now be constructed and students will be informed of their choices in Term 3. Any student who forgot to select will have to see me early next term.
HSC TRIAL EXAMINATION TIMETABLE
This has now been finalised and a letter sent home via email to parents.
PARENT/TEACHER STUDENT CONFERENCES 1 AUGUST
Year 7-11 reports will be posted by the end of term. Please note the Year 7-11 PTS interviews will be from 8am-6pm on Thursday 1 August (week 2, Term 3). A letter will accompany reports with the access code, which will also be available on all House classroom pages and Compass in Week 10. Year 12 will have normal classes on that day but all other classes will be cancelled.
CONTACTING STAFF MEMBERS
This is a reminder that all communication to staff must be through the College via email or calling the College directly. Staff are only required to respond during reasonable school hours and when they are able too.
ATOMI
Students in Year 11 and 12 will be trialling the use of ATOMI in Term 3. ATOMI provides short videos and quizzes aligned to the context of numerous Stage 6 course….more details to come.
