Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we move towards the end of term, I would like to thank all of our teachers for their passion for teaching. Not only do they work at delivering 5 high quality lessons each day, they coordinate all sorts of co-curricular activities to support the broader life of the school. This takes considerable time away from their own families and personal lives to afford our students these opportunities.

Teaching and Learning:

Thanks must go to Mrs Hibbert and the KLA team for organising the Stage 5 Subject selections and up-coming Yr 11 Information Night. There is more detail regarding these evenings later in the newsletter.

Fundraising:

I would like to thank all those involved in the recent Gallagher Dine and Donate charity fundraiser. We gathered on Monday evening to prepare meals for the needy in our community and raise funds to support St Vincent De Paul. This is our second Dine and Donate dinner for the year. Please consider participating in your child’s house dine and donate dinner- we have Rice and McAuley to go.

Culture:

Staff and students have been working in their own time towards our famous Variety Night.  Come along next Thursday night to celebrate the amazing talents present in our wonderful school.

Sport:

Congratulations goes out to our Country Cup rugby students who travel to Wagga next week to play in the regional semi-finals.  Hennessy  continues to produce amazing football talent, Nic Hall will be playing in the NSW CCC rugby league rep side and  Tom Jenkins has been signed to the Penrith Panthers NRL side. Well done to all of you, determination and dedication can take you far.

Camp:

Year 7 are currently away for their first school camp. Reports indicate all are having a wonderful time and thanks goes to Staff once again for taking time out of their teaching to accompany our Year 7’s. This camp is designed to celebrate the beginning of their school journey at Hennessy.

Community:

I would like to thank Mr Miller for organising and accompanying me on the year 7 2020 regional primary school visits. We have Year 7 students assisting with these visits and giving Year 6 students an insight into what Year 7 is like at Hennessy.

Enrolment interviews for 2020 have commenced and I look forward to continuing to meet all of our families. We are also looking forward to meeting our year 11 2020 students from Sacred Heart in Cootamundra in the coming weeks.

Good Wishes
