FROM THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Year 12

The Trial HSC Timetable will be available next week - these will be in Weeks 4 and 5 of Term 3. Students will only be required to be at school for their examinations but may access the library at other times. 

Free ATAR Lectures in the July holidays - information has been posted to your Yr 12 classroom page and students should consider taking advantage of these free sessions to assist them with Trial preparation. 

NOTE: There are also some lectures for Year 10 and 11 subjects such as Sciences and Maths subjects. 

Stage 6

Students are busy completing their assessments and need to ensure that they are looking after their wellbeing. Headspace has some great tips for managing workloads during examinations but it’s imperative during all times where many assessments are due. Their main advice is:

• Take the time to plan - this is really important if students have outside commitments that are causing additional time constraints
• Look after yourself - build in some downtime and ensure you’re not hungry when studying
• Rest when you need to - don’t study more than 40-50 minutes with a short break and try and get plenty of sleep
• Stay focussed - it’s OK to say no to social events if you are studying - many more will come along. Turn off distractions too. 
• Ask for help - do this earlier rather than later - contact your teacher if you need some assistance
• Be prepared - rehearse the conditions of the task such as practising writing out answers (if an exam) or practice speeches in front of a mirror.

Subject Selections Year 8 and 9

A huge thank you to Year 8 and 9 who all selected on time. Mr Mergard and I are now working on the lines for 2023 which should be available early Term 3. 

Subject Selections for Year 11 2023 will take place in week 2 of Term 3. There will be a Parent Information Session on Tuesday 26th July and selections will open after this. More information will be forthcoming in the following weeks.

When: Thursday 28th July from 8am-6pm (Year 12 students have normal classes that day). More details to come. 

Reports

Staff are busy completing tasks and constructing reports for semester 1. They will be available via the Parent Portal by the end of Term.
