Principal's Report

Welcome to the last week of Term 3.

This morning we farewelled our Year 12, Class of 2020, at a Graduation Mass followed by an Awards Ceremony.

This Year 12 class have experienced a final year of schooling unlike any other. During this year they have shown themselves to be students of strong character, resilience, perseverance and kindness to each other. They have a real love of life and have thoroughly enjoyed their various activities this week. There is no doubt that they have enthusiastically taken on the various dress-up challenges presented to them!

The end of formal schooling is a time of both sadness and anticipation. Sadness to be leaving friends, teachers and the school environment but also a sense of anticipation as the next chapter of life unfolds. I would sincerely hope that the education that each student has received at Hennessy will provide them with Christian values which will give them a moral compass as they travel through life. It is always a great joy to hear stories from past students so I would encourage them to keep in touch.

Another sad farewell for the College was the funeral for Mr Brett Cowan on Saturday morning at the College. Mr Cowan joined the College in 2005 and was much loved by staff and students. His funeral was attended by many Hennessy staff and students, past students, friends and family. His farewell was a real celebration of his life and was testament to a man of great integrity, generosity and a real love of life. He will be greatly missed.

I would like to wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday. School returns for students on Tuesday, October 13.

Take care.
