TVET Success
Congratulations to our Year 11 student Amy Knapman who has reached the final round of the 2020 Training Awards VET in School Student of the Year category. This is the first time that a student from Hennessy Catholic College has been nominated for this award but Amy is a most worthy candidate. She was nominated by her hospitality teacher, Miss Worner and her Careers Adviser, Mrs Parkman for her great results in her preliminary HSC hospitality studies completed during 2019. She submitted her application in March this year and was required to answer several questions about her hospitality studies, her community involvement as well as submitting photos and course results.
The Riverina-Murray Vocational Education and Training Committee interviewed Amy last week and she was advised that she had been selected as a finalist from the Riverina Murray region and will go on to represent this area in the State finals.
Sadly, Amy won’t be able to go to the awards night in person due to corona virus restrictions but we wish her luck at the virtual presentation where the winner of the VET in School Student of the Year category will be announced.
Congratulations Amy and Miss Worner for such an astounding achievement.
