Teaching and Learning News

WELCOME TO ALL OUR NEW STUDENTS

Now we are settled in we would like to also welcome all our new students across Years 7-11. We are still learning names but it’s lovely to see so many happy faces.

We have been visiting classrooms and students are working well with their peers and their teachers. Over the next few weeks we will be asking students about WHY they are learning about their task.

CHANGING ELECTIVES

This will cease tomorrow and all classes will be set – we are appreciative of the patience of all the students who have waited to get the subjects they want.

It’s important now for all students to settled into their classes and focus on moving their learning forward.

SAVE THE DATE

Parent Teacher Student Conferences for Years 7-12 will be held at Hennessy on Thursday 12 March from 8am-6pm. This is the first opportunity for you to speak with your child’s teacher around their learning and we look forward to seeing everyone there.

There will be no classes for Years 7-11 that day (although there will be supervision in the library during school hours). Year 12 classes will run as normal and appointments should be made before or after school or when students have study.

More information will come shortly about how to book interviews.

LOCATION OF ASSESSMENT POLICIES FOR YEARS 11 AND 12

A reminder that students can access their assessment policy as well as forms for Illness/Misadventure, Extensions and Appeals on the Hennessy Student Google Drive – under ‘Forms and Assessments. The policy is also available on the Hennessy website under Teaching and Learning.

Its important students use this guide when preparing for assessments so they are aware of rules, procedures and penalties.
