Principal's Report
As Kathy takes a short break, I’ve stepped into the role of Acting Principal for the final stretch of the term. It’s been a genuine privilege to be in this position, and already I have seen so many moments that reflect the heart and energy of our school community.
This week, I am particularly excited to watch our Year 7 students vote for their Year Level Captains. The quality of applications we received was nothing short of impressive. A big thank you to those students who put themselves forward—it takes courage and a sense of service to step into leadership, and it’s clear that our Year 7s are showing just that. We will be celebrating the successful candidates at our Whole School Assembly on Tuesday 24 June.
It has also been great to see a noticeable increase in House Level and Bronze Awards at recent House Meetings. These awards aren’t handed out lightly, they reflect students who are choosing to stretch themselves and take on challenges in how they live spiritually, learn dynamically, and act justly. That kind of growth is always worth celebrating.
A special congratulations to Kaelan Dal Molin, who was officially welcomed into the Catholic Church during our recent Hennessy Parish Mass. This was a significant and beautiful moment, and we are incredibly proud of Kaelan and all students who make the choice to deepen their faith. The Mass itself was very well attended by students, and the fun continued afterwards at Youth Group. If you missed it, don’t worry, our next Mass and Youth Group will be held on Friday 2 August, and we’d love to see even more students there.
Looking ahead, Week 10 will include our final round of Pastoral Programs for the term. Students in Years 7 to 10 will be taking part in Cyber Safety sessions delivered by the Cyber Safety Project, an important reminder about how to navigate the digital world with care, respect and responsibility.
Teachers are also finalising marks for student reports this week. Reports for Years 7–10 will be published via Compass in Week 10. I encourage families to take time to go through these together, reflect on progress, and set fresh goals for Term 3.
Another standout this term has been the Skills for Service Project. The creativity and heart that students have shown is honestly amazing, whether it’s learning a new language to teach at a daycare, knitting beanies for the homeless, sewing blankets, or learning sign language. These are real skills making a real difference.
And finally, we can’t forget the State of Origin Year Level Competition! The lunchtime matches have been full of spirit, teamwork, and some friendly rivalry. It’s been brilliant to see students getting involved, whether playing or cheering from the sidelines.
Thanks for all your support, together we are making a difference.
