The Leaders Lounge - Student Leadership Article
Welcome back to term 2 for 2025! This week’s leadership lounge is brought to you by our School Captains, Madi & Josh. We hope you have all enjoyed your Easter holidays and are all ready for another action-packed term filled with fun and learning.
Last week, we held our annual Athletics Carnival which was a great success! It was amazing to see so many incredible costumes as students dressed to represent their houses. It was even better to see so many bright and happy faces as students went out there and had a crack. It was overall a hot sunny day filled with loads of fun and participation!
Today we had a very exciting day, which kicked off with our annual Mother's Day Mass & Breakfast. It was so amazing to be able to see so many incredible mothers and grandmothers come out for a morning of celebration and appreciation for all the hard work they do for us students. We would like to wish all Hennessy Mothers a very happy early Mother's Day and hopefully they get showered in love and praise this Sunday for all the efforts they put in. Friday saw Hennessy Students participate in the nationwide “Do it for Dolly Day”, which saw students wearing blue in order to raise awareness for suicide prevention. Students also brought in a gold coin donation, which will be donated to the “Dolly’s Dream” fundraiser, to help in their efforts to stop bullying.
A huge congratulations to Nagle, who took out the House Cup for term 1. On the back of this, all four Houses have continued with their competitive spirit from last term! It’ll be very exciting to find out next week who took out the 2025 Athletics carnival with Nagle & Rice battling it out all day, with the winner likely to take an early lead in the Term 2 house cup.
That wraps up this week's edition of the Leadership Lounge. We can’t wait to see you all next time!
