Principal's Report
We have had a number of milestones and events in the life of the College over the last 2 weeks.
Events
We have seen our Year 12’s, the graduating class of 2019 finish with their formal dinner last week and the have received numerous first round entry offers into Universities and vocational pathways and we had our new graduating class of 2025 join us for their orientation day into Year 7.
Our 2020 College timetable and staffing changes for 2020 are in the process of being finalised and will be in place next year ready for us to continue to deliver 5 quality lessons every day.
This week, our Year 10 students have embarked on their leadership camp in Canberra, the aim of which is to begin to prepare them for Year 11 and the rigours of Senior College life. The Year 10’s also take on work experience next week in an effort to enable them to gain some real world experience.
New College Principal
Mrs Kathy Holding will be in the College next week as part of her handover process. The College Executive will undertake annual improvement planning in a joint exercise with myself and Mrs Holding and our regional primary schools. This is a new way of planning strategically to ensure our message is transparent and focussed as a western region.
Thanks
My thanks goes out to all Hennessy Staff who have worked so hard this year to ensure the life of the College is vibrant and engaging. On top of preparing lessons, delivering lessons, writing reports and marking work, they are also planning camps, sporting activities, induction days, and formal events, inter house competitions, debating, subject specific competitions and performing a myriad of other opportunities for your child to be involved in. This is a wonderful value add we are fortunate to be able to access here at Hennessy.
Thankyou and good wishes for the weeks ahead
