In week one of this term, debating teams travelled to St Raphael’s Cowra and Red Bend College Forbes to compete in the Western Region Catholic Schools’ Debating Competition. Hennessy had competitors in Years 7, 8, 9 and 11 and many new students joined teams which was great to see. Mrs Tyrrell and Mrs Duff are continually expounding the many virtues and skills of debating!

Amelia Leitner-Ford, Chelsea Cleverdon and Sarah Dillon representing Year 9 and Bridie Minehan, Shannon O’Brien and Harrison Cleverdon won all three of their debates on the day so now compete in the finals in Sydney on November 15^th.

It is worth noting that this Year 11 team in various compositions, Bridie the constant, have made it to Sydney each year since year 7 which is remarkable. We wish them all the very best for their preparations over the next few weeks.
