HSC TIMETABLE

HSC Exams are progressing well and we are half way through. Students have generally been excellent with uniform and being prompt to exams.

YEAR 12 2020

Our Year 11 students have transitioned into Year 12 and started their HSC courses. Most students have changed subjects, although a few are still deciding which is fine for all classes except Maths, English and Religion courses. Every student has signed that they have received information regarding Assessment policies – their booklet is on their Year 12 2020 Google classroom page as well as the Assessment Calendar.

I have managed to catch up with most students who had worrisome results from the Year 11 exams and contact parents concerned where required. All students have followed the advice provided by their teachers in regards to what they should be doing for 2020.

Students have been advised to utilise study better, especially as most now have more study periods. This was information presented to them during Transition morning:

The students who do best all state the key is to study continuously...so a little bit each week by revising content.

So…

  • use your study periods and lunchtime to do homework first and then assessments
  • ask teachers to help you in study
  • catch up on missed work - it’s your responsibility
  • at home you should be doing on average 2-3 hours per week night which finishes any work not done in class and then additional study such as…..
  • study notes of content covered
  • watch any related ATOMI videos and make notes to add to the study notes
  • locate a past paper and try it...and then submit for feedback
  • reading - re-read what you’ve done and look for other information to help clarify this if you don’t understand - you often have multiple texts
  • form study groups - keep Wednesday afternoon free
  • don’t forget you have Study Samurai at your disposal on your House page.

Any student who is misusing study will have this reallocated to a classroom (this includes not following the instruction of library staff in regards to their phones). ATOMI will start to be rolled over for them next week as the classes settle.

 SUBJECT SELECTIONS

I have recently popped out Electives for 2020 – students may still request changes which is happening slowly. I appreciate their patience.

Wishing you all a great term 4.
