Major events coming up include ArchdiocesanSoccer Gala Day and CEO Sleepout! TRhis week Hennessy showed off its soccer skills at the Soccer Gala Day, students played well and made sure they showcased the true Hennessy Sportsmanship.
Yesterday was the CEO sleepout, which saw some of our favourite teachers and staff participating in order to raise awareness for homelessness within our communities. So make a last minute donation to support your choice of; Mrs Holding, Mrs Wright, Mr Mergard, Mrs McInerney and Mrs Woods. All funds raised will go to the Western Region of the Archdiocese which helps aid people suffering from homelessness.
School State of Origin has come to its finals with Yr 7 and Yr 12 playing for the bronze award on Tuesday. Both sides showed some real talent (especially Nagle captain Dieter Dickinson), Yr 7 by surprise pulled through with the victory beating Yr 12’s 3 - 1. The Yr 12 team were difficult to beat as they displayed a profound level of perseverance and sportsmanship. The final game was held with Yr 11 facing off against the Yr 10's. The Yr11's managed to pull through and secure the win in what can only be described as a magical game. Thankyou to all the players and teams that participated, and a special thank you to Mrs McInerney and everyone else that helped uphold this Hennessy tradition.
I would also like to give a special mention to the Hennessy boy’s basketball team that secured a place at the State Basketball Championships where they will play for the state title, thank you to Chris Holt (Owner of NRG Fitness) for his support in training and coaching the boy’s team over the past month. Goodluck next week and make sure you show off our Hennessy Spirit.
Moving on to our house initiatives, Nagle Dine and Donate was a hit bringing in many Nagle families to cook together in support of raising money. On the menu was pumpkin risotto and chicken which I heard tasted amazing, captains Dieter, Camden and not to forget house leader Mrs Nowlan did a fantastic job organising for Nagle, thank you!
