2025 - Term 3, Week 10
Principal's Report

Kathy Holding - Principal
Welcome to the final newsletter for Term 3. This week has been busy as we farewell Year 12. They have had a variety of fun activities at school, culminating in a very special mass yesterday. The mass was very well attended and it was lovely to see so many families and friends of the Class of 2025 present. It was also rewarding to see so many junior students in attendance, keen to farewell their senior friends and also to see the pathway for them when they are in Year 12. The Hall had no spare seats, and we estimate that approximately 700 people attended the mass in total — a very fitting farewell for such a special group of students!
Father Jiss celebrated the Mass supported by his new deacon, Deacon Joe. We look forward to getting to know Joe better and welcoming him into our classrooms next term. A big thank you to Mr Luke Miller for coordinating the Mass, assistance from Mrs Wright, and to Mrs Riordan for the beautiful music and singing. Mrs Navori and her talented Hospitality team provided a scrumptious luncheon after the Mass.
Congratulations to Year 11 who completed their Preliminary Exams this week. Staff reported that their behaviour and focus was very positive.
A reminder that school does not resume for students until Tuesday, October 14. The HSC exams will commence on Thursday, October 16.
Best wishes to all our families for a safe and happy break.
🎓 Farewell to Year 12 – A Week of Celebration and Reflection
As the Year 12 students of 2025 wrap up their final days in the classroom, the school community came together to celebrate their journey with a week full of fun, creativity, and heartfelt moments before they begin preparing for their HSC exams.
Friday kicked off the festivities with students arriving in their Primary School uniforms, travelling to school by “Anything but a car”—a tradition that brought plenty of laughs and nostalgia.
Monday saw students dressed as the first letter of their name, carrying their essentials in “Anything but a bag”, and enjoying a relaxed picnic lunch on the parish lawn.
Tuesday was themed “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, inspired by childhood dreams. The day ended with a lively water fight on the school oval, bringing joy and camaraderie.
Wednesday, the final day together, began with students arriving in their pyjamas for a staff-catered breakfast, followed by preparations for the Graduation Mass and Awards Celebration. The Mass was a reverent and moving occasion, attended by the entire school and special guests of the Year 12 cohort. The day concluded with a warm afternoon tea on the parish lawn, marking the end of their school journey.
We wish our Year 12 students all the very best as they enter this next chapter. May their HSC preparation be focused and fruitful, and may they carry the memories of this final week with pride and joy.
